- Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings and services provided by HTC Wines Limited trading as CorkNTalk (“CorkNTalk”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By booking an event or engaging our services, you (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
- Services Provided
CorkNTalk provides:
- Private wine tastings
- Public ticketed wine events
- Corporate events
- Weddings
- Wine sourcing and consultancy services
We provide guided tasting services and hosted experiences.
Where wine orders are placed following an event, CorkNTalk may facilitate introductions or orders with independent wine merchants. Unless explicitly agreed in writing, CorkNTalk is not the seller of record, and any purchase contract is between the Client and the relevant wine merchant.
- Age Restrictions
All CorkNTalk events are strictly 18+.
By booking, the Client confirms that all attendees will be aged 18 or over.
CorkNTalk reserves the right to request proof of age where appropriate.
- Booking & Payment Terms
4.1 Private Events (including weddings & corporate bookings)
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of the event prior to the start time.
- Payment methods accepted: Bank transfer or card.
4.2 Public Ticketed Events
- Full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
- CorkNTalk does not store card details.
Bookings are not confirmed until deposit or full payment is received.
- Pricing & Minimum Numbers
- Private tastings are priced per head.
- Minimum guest number: 6.
- If confirmed guest numbers fall below 6, the originally agreed minimum event price remains payable.
All pricing agreed at booking remains binding unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Cancellation & Rescheduling
6.1 Client Cancellation – Private Events
- Cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to the event.
- If cancelled 3 or more days before the event, payments made will be refunded.
- If cancelled less than 3 days before the event, the deposit is non-refundable.
6.2 Public Ticketed Events
Ticket cancellations are subject to the ticketing platform’s terms (e.g. TicketTailor).
6.3 Rescheduling
CorkNTalk may, at its discretion, agree to reschedule events where sufficient notice is given. Rescheduling requests made within 3 days of the event may be treated as a cancellation.
6.4 Cancellation by CorkNTalk
If CorkNTalk must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances:
- A full refund of payments made will be provided, or
- The event may be rescheduled by agreement.
CorkNTalk shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the Client, including venue hire, catering, travel, accommodation or third-party services.
- Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees:
- To ensure the venue permits alcohol service.
- To obtain any necessary venue permissions or approvals.
- To provide a suitable and safe environment for the event.
- To provide adequate table space and seating.
- To allow a minimum of 1 hour for setup.
- To ensure guests behave in a safe and respectful manner.
The Client is responsible for any damage to CorkNTalk equipment beyond normal wear and tear.
A charge of £5 per broken wine glass may apply to cover replacement costs.
- Alcohol Service & Responsible Drinking
CorkNTalk holds a Personal Licence where required and operates in accordance with UK licensing laws.
We promote responsible alcohol consumption at all times.
CorkNTalk reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who:
- Appears intoxicated
- Is under 18
- Behaves in a disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate manner
The Client is responsible for:
- Ensuring guests consume alcohol responsibly
- Arranging safe transportation where appropriate
CorkNTalk accepts no liability for:
- Overconsumption of alcohol
- Actions taken by guests under the influence of alcohol
- Incidents occurring after the conclusion of the event
Where wine is left with the Client after an event, responsibility for its storage and consumption transfers immediately to the Client.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Allergies & Food Safety
Where grazing boards or food elements are provided:
- Items may contain allergens.
- CorkNTalk cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- The Client must notify CorkNTalk of any allergies in advance.
Guests with severe allergies attend at their own risk.
- Equipment & Property
CorkNTalk may provide glassware, tasting materials and event equipment.
The Client is responsible for ensuring the safety of all equipment during the event.
Loss or damage beyond normal use may be charged to the Client.
- Photography & Marketing
Photographs may be taken at events for marketing purposes.
- Public events: consent may be obtained verbally or via booking terms or signage.
- Private events: written consent is obtained in advance.
If a guest does not wish to appear in photographs, this must be communicated before or during the event.
CorkNTalk may use event photography on:
- Social media
- Website
- Promotional materials
Requests for image removal will be respected.
- Force Majeure
CorkNTalk shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations where such failure is caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Illness
- Extreme weather
- Venue closure
- Transport disruption
- Government restrictions
- Other unforeseen events
In such circumstances, CorkNTalk may:
- Reschedule the event within a reasonable period, or
- Provide a full refund of payments made.
Refunds shall be limited to sums paid to CorkNTalk and shall not include consequential losses or third-party costs.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
CorkNTalk’s total liability arising under or in connection with any booking shall be limited to the total amount paid by the Client for that event.
CorkNTalk shall not be liable for:
- Loss of profits
- Loss of business
- Loss of opportunity
- Indirect or consequential losses
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
- Indemnity
The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless CorkNTalk against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Guest misconduct
- Unsafe venue conditions
- Failure to obtain necessary permissions
- Breach of these Terms
- Insurance
CorkNTalk is in the process of arranging public liability insurance appropriate to its services. Confirmation of active cover can be provided upon request.
- Data Protection
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website.
- Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
